Jewelry Guide & Care

GOLD PLATED:

Gold plated jewelry is widely popular because it creates the look of real gold at a fraction of the price. The layer of gold can generally be between 0.5 microns & 2.5 microns thick. With time, this gold plated layer can fade away to reveal the base metal underneath. The base used in our pieces is 925 sterling silver or stainless steel. This doesn’t mean your jewelry can’t last 2-3 years. So how can you take care of your jewelry to keep it longer with you?

  • Avoid getting it wet. Remove before showering or bathing.
  • Do not put lotions, creams, & perfumes directly on the jewelry.

The chemicals and oils in these products can cause the gold color to fade faster.

  • Keep your pieces stored away when not being worn. We recommend to keep them in the pouches that we offer in every order.

PVD STAINLESS STEEL:

PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition, which means the coating is more resistant to corrosion from sweat and regular wear than gold plating. The gold layer is also thicket than with other gold plating methods, thus resulting in even longer lasting jewely. The result - high quality long lasting jewels, that are also waterproof!

If you are never taking your jewelry off, we highly recommend to grab our jewelry that is made prof PVD stainless steel. Our only advice:

  • when not using, store it in a pouch to not loose it.

925 STERLING SILVER:

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper. It’s a high quality material that is both durable and beautiful. Want to keep your silver shiny ? This is what we recommend:

  • Wear it often. Our skin natural oils keep 925s jewelry shiny and polished.
  • Keep it out of direct sunlight. Ex: when going to the beach.
  • Clean your pieces with soap and water.
  • If your jewelry became black, use white vinegar and baking soda to take away the tarnish.
  • Polish it with a polishing gentle cloth.
  • Store pieces individually.
  • Use an air-tight pouch or zip bag. We would recommend to store it in our pouches to avoid being exposed to the Air.
